I just found your website and am thrilled by the wonderful ideas - probably because I have been talking about this very thing at my church, North Decatur United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

The leadership is worried about bringing people into the building. I urge us to go out into the community. For example, there are many apartments around our church which house large immigrant populations with lots of kids. There is so much we could do if we went there and started children's programs and had a traveling drama group we could play off the back of a truck. We could engage the moms and help them with babysitting and language tutoring. We could help the dads find resources like jobs and used cars. We could work with the apartment managers to locate unused space in their buildings for worship. Some of us single people could even take an apartment there and begin a "distributive church station".

There are many senior assisted living and rehab centers around us. Many of these folks are churched and seekers. But they cannot get to our building because they are wheel chair bound or bound to medical equipment. They are hungry for companionship and for the story of Jesus Christ. Once we start programs there we engage people in many other areas of their lives - most expecially, praying for their healing and visiting them when they are hospitalized. Then we connect with their families who may be seekers as well.

After all, we are all seekers at different stages of our spiritual journeys in our life with Our Lord, Jesus the Christ.

I will pray for the wonderful work the Church is doing.

I have used Deepening Your Effectiveness with several congregations over the past year as a discipleship development resource. It has never failed to be a tremendous eye-opener and effective guide. Like any good resource, its application requires hard work, perseverance, and sensitivity to the unique cultural characterisitics of each local church. What it offers is worth the effort!

Hey Dan, Thanks for being a Christian and helping people to understand what it means to have a walk with Christ. Salvation is trully the key to the gates of heaven. If anyone reading this has any doubts about their salvation, please begin your walk right now by discussing with the Lord, right there in the privacy of your home, just say, Dear Lord Jesus, forgive me of my sins, I believe that your died on the cross for my sins and you were resurrected to life , I accept you as my personal savior. Do this, then read the Bible daily, that is your guidebook for Christianity and your Walk. Find a church that teaches and believes the whole Bible and go there for strength and fellowship. Peace, Bob Wallace

Hi Dan,
I just listened to your podcast. Thanks for the work that you and Claudia are doing to help revitalize the church. Making disciples is the mission that Christ gave to His church and we need to be intentional in accomplishing that mission. God bless you as you continue to serve Him.

Laura and I have marveled at the ministry of Nick and Lucy since before they began their first walk across the country, and are delighted to see them doing it again. Their love, their witness, and their perseverance are all a living testimony to the God they serve. Our prayers go with them as they go forth to touch many more lives.

What a wonderful podcast program. Nick and Tom keep things rolling along just right, so that you do not get bored and the topics are very interesting and enjoyable to listen to.
The ministry of Nick and Lucy is very unique and displays a true dedication to the Lords work. I totally recommend that everyone listen to this podcast program and future programs of the Methodist Disciple. We should never to tire of doing the Lords work and it is a blessing to here about how others are involved and what they have accomplished for the Lord through their particular ministry. Always remember that personal Salvation of ourselves and leading others to Salvations is not only a joy and priviledge, but, it is our job as Christians to lead lost souls to Christ with patience an with Love. That is what I call "Amazing Grace" Peace, "HeyCowBoyBob"(alias Bob Wallace)
